# Getting started in 60 seconds

Aayat AI sells data and AI tools to AI agents and the people who build them: crypto token safety, web search with cited answers, current library docs and more. Try it free, then pay per call in USDC with [x402](https://x402.org) or with prepaid credits. No account and no subscription.

## 1. Try it free in Claude or Cursor (20 s)

## 2. See an answer first, free (10 s)

Every service has a free sample answer for its demo input (a stored real answer when we have one; otherwise an example marked `"kind": "illustrative"`):

Calling a service without paying is free too: you get `402 Payment Required` with the price in the JSON body and the
`PAYMENT-REQUIRED` header (base64 JSON: the exact amount and the networks we accept).

## 3. Pay per call, or top up credits (30 s)

**Prepaid credits (no wallet code):** top up once with USDC, get an API key, and send `Authorization: Bearer <key>` on any call (or add `?key=<key>` to the MCP server URL). Failed calls go back to your balance. See [/credits](/credits):

**x402 per call:** use a fresh wallet just for your agent with **$1 of USDC** on it (on Base, the cheapest; we also accept Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum). $1 buys 50 calls of `token-safety` at $0.02, or 200 to 500 calls of the $0.002–$0.005 tools. You don't need ETH for gas: x402 payments are signed messages and the facilitator pays the gas.

Run it with `WALLET_PRIVATE_KEY=0x... npx tsx call.ts`. The client sees the 402, signs the exact amount, repeats the call and returns the answer. The `PAYMENT-RESPONSE` header holds the on-chain receipt.

## Paying over MCP from your own agent

Point any MCP client at `https://aayatai.com/mcp` (Streamable HTTP). Each paid tool call answers with the x402 price until the client retries with the payment in `params._meta["x402/payment"]`. The x402 MCP client does this for you:

## Good to know

- Failed calls (bad input, a data source down, a timeout) are never charged. Bad inputs are rejected before payment.
