# Terms of use

These terms apply to everyone who uses Aayat AI (the website, the paid APIs and the MCP server), including
AI agents acting for someone. By paying for or using a service you accept them, together with the
[acceptable use policy](/acceptable-use) and the [privacy notice](/privacy).

## Who we are
Aayat AI is a trading name of Faisal Aziz, a sole trader in England, UK. Contact: [hello@aayatai.com](mailto:hello@aayatai.com).

## What we provide
- Pay-per-call data and AI tools. Each call's price is shown before you pay (HTTP 402 / x402). Prices can change,
  but never for a call you have already been quoted and paid.
- Payments are in stablecoins (e.g. USDC) through the x402 protocol and a payment facilitator. You are responsible
  for your wallet, keys and any network fees.
- **Failed calls are not charged.** If a call fails because of bad input, an upstream problem, a timeout or a
  paused service, the payment is not settled. Because charging only happens on success, there are no refunds for
  successful calls.

## Information, not advice
- Answers come from public sources, third-party data providers and AI models. They can be incomplete, out of date
  or wrong. **Nothing we return is financial, investment, legal, tax or security advice.** Token safety scores and
  reports are automated heuristics; a "low-risk" result does not mean a token is safe.
- You are responsible for how you, or your agent, use the answers, and for checking anything important.

## Third-party content
- Some answers include content, data or links from third parties (websites, registries, news, blockchains). It
  stays subject to its owners' rights and terms; UK public-sector data is used under the Open Government Licence.
- When fetching web pages for you we identify ourselves as `aayat-ai` and follow each site's robots.txt.

## Availability
- We aim for high availability but provide the service "as is" and "as available", without warranties. We may
  pause, change or retire services (see the public [status page](/status)), and we may rate-limit or block traffic
  that breaks these terms or threatens the service.

## Liability
- To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits,
  trading losses or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the
  calls concerned in the 30 days before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited
  by law.

## Changes and law
- We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and continued use means you accept it.
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute.

## Prepaid credits (draft: pending the operator's review)
- You can buy prepaid credits by sending USDC on Base to the address we give you. Credits are denominated in US
  dollars (1 USDC = $1 of credit), don't expire while the service runs, and are used up at each service's listed
  price per call. Failed calls are not charged.
- Your API key is the only proof of your balance. Keep it secret; we store only a hash of it and can't recover it. If
  someone else uses your key, those calls are charged to your balance.
- Payments are matched by the exact amount we ask you to send. If you send a different amount or token, or to the
  wrong network, we may be unable to match it automatically; contact us and we'll try to help, but can't guarantee it.
- You can ask for a refund of your unused balance at any time (POST /credits/refund). Refunds are reviewed and sent by
  hand in USDC on Base, usually within 5 working days, less any network fee. We may refuse or delay a refund where we
  suspect fraud or misuse.
- Prices can change; your balance keeps its dollar value. If we ever close the service we'll refund unused balances
  on request.
