Start from what you have
- A website: the company profile ($0.03) finds the likely legal entities behind a domain in the global LEI register, plus the domain's age and registrar, its security headers and its tech stack.
- A company number: the LEI lookup ($0.005) searches by national company number (for example
00445790with countryGB) and returns the registered name, address, status and parent companies for businesses with an LEI. - An EU or Northern Ireland VAT number: the VAT check ($0.005) asks the European Commission's VIES system live whether it is valid, and returns the registered name and address where shared.
- Just a domain: the domain lookup ($0.002) shows when it was registered and when it expires. A "company" whose website is three weeks old is worth a second look.
Companies House data
The UK company check ($0.005) reads Companies House: status, type, incorporation date, registered office, SIC codes, whether accounts or the confirmation statement are overdue, charges and insolvency history.
Warning signs worth checking
- The registered name doesn't match the name on the website or invoice.
- The company is dissolved, in liquidation, or its accounts are overdue.
- The website domain was registered very recently.
- A VAT number that VIES reports as invalid.
Companies only
These tools return data about companies and public registers only. We don't look up private individuals, and sole traders' names are withheld where the register treats them as personal data.

Questions people ask
Where does the data come from?
Official and open registers: the GLEIF LEI register, the European Commission's VIES VAT system, RDAP domain registries and the company's own website and DNS. Each answer names its sources.
Can I look up a person or a director?
No. The tools are for companies and public registers only; we don't return data about private individuals.
How much does it cost?
From $0.005 a call, charged only when the lookup succeeds. In Claude or Cursor the first 20 calls a day are free, with no sign-up.
Can I use it from code?
Yes. Every tool is an HTTP endpoint you can pay per call with x402 or with an API key and prepaid credits. See the docs.
