When do a project's tokens unlock, and who gets them?
Large unlocks put new tokens in the hands of teams and early investors, and some of them sell. One call lists a project's upcoming unlocks with dates, amounts, share of supply and value at today's price, for $0.005.

What an unlock schedule tells you
- Cliffs: a large amount released on one date, often a year after launch. These are the ones to watch.
- Linear emissions: a steady amount released every day or week.
- Recipients: team and advisers, investors, the treasury or the community. Insider unlocks usually carry more sell pressure than community ones.
- Size: the share of total supply and the USD value at today's price, and totals for the next 30 and 90 days.
Reading it sensibly
An unlock isn't a sale: recipients may hold, stake or have already hedged. Compare the unlock's value with the token's daily trading volume, and check whether it is already widely known. This is data, not financial advice.
